Season: 20/05 to 15/10

MV-LF only sells 24-hour passes for the association's fishing waters at Skjern Å from May 20 to October 15.

Skjern Å

Extends between Arnborg Hede plantation upstream of Forvirringen and down to the old railway bridge just east of Sønder Felding. The association does most of its fishing here.

Species include salmon, sea trout, as well as brook trout, brown trout and rainbow trout.

Places to mention include Arnborg Hede, Hesselvig, Øvig, Tjæreovnene, Den Gule Gård and Nummer 155, all of which are among several other fantastic stretches that offer some of the best salmon fishing in all of Denmark. Every year, lots of salmon are caught here – also over 10 kilos – on both fly and spin. The fishing is also attractive because it is not overfished, and you can therefore always find pristine fishing waters throughout the season. Especially in the spring there is a real chance of catching salmon up to the 20 kilo class. In addition to salmon, sea trout fishing has improved a lot in the last two years, especially in 2023 many fine sea trout have been caught.

In addition to salmon and sea trout, you can also catch brown trout, rainbow trout and a few pike.

In addition, the water is home to the protected stable.

Rind Å

Between Arnborg and Forvirringen, there is fine fishing on a stretch of almost a kilometer in the small and exciting stream Rind Å.

The fish are primarily for salmon, sea trout, brown trout and rainbow trout.

In addition, the water is home to the protected grayling.

Upstream of Forvirringen, both salmon and sea trout like to rest before continuing further upstream. There are several fine places that should be fished especially during and after increasing water flow. Here it is also fine to fish with a one-handed fly rod for salmon. You can also catch rainbows, brown trout and a few pike.

Especially in May, June and September, fishing with dry flies and nymphs can be really good.

Karstoft Å

Located between Risbjerg and Blåhøj where there is about a kilometer of fishing water, as well as upstream and downstream Karstoft town with almost four kilometers of fantastic fishing water.

There is primarily fishing for Salmon & Sea Trout but also really good brown trout and rainbow trout fishing. In addition, the water is home to the protected grayling

In Karstoft Å, fishing for stables is on the rise, and quite a few brown trout and rainbow trout are also being caught. But after the barrier down at Skarrildhus was removed in 2019, both salmon and sea trout have once again been able to find their way to the many spawning banks in Karstoft Å. We know from the ancestors of the salmon king Christian Bæktoft Simonsen that Karstoft Å was full of salmon until 1840, and it should be that way again soon. It is only a matter of time before the first salmon are caught on a rod around Karstoft town. You should try especially after days of rain and showers, because then both salmon and sea trout seek out the slightly smaller tributaries to Skjern Å.

Fjederholt Å

Fishing in the stream offers several exciting opportunities to catch fish species such as trout, salmon and brown trout. The stream is known for its clear water and scenic surroundings. In May and June, massive hatchings of dayflies can be experienced, and some fantastic dry fly fishing for trout can be experienced here.

In addition to dry fly fishing, the fish are primarily for pike, salmon, trout and roach.

The water also houses the protected grayling.
